The Institute of Unlearning is first and foremost a "cyberspace
classroom" dedicated to promoting the visions of its creator, Patrick
Mooney. The Institute intends to draw people from all ages and walks
of life to this site for the purpose of stimulating the unlearning process,
which is a crucial component in transforming yourself (and therefore
the world) into a more fully human living experience.
The unlearning process requires a mind that is open to new ideas and
possibilities, many of them being of a "radical" nature
(from the currently accepted consensus reality). At no point whatsoever
will the Institute insist that these new ideas be held as true, correct,
or even proper. A person's truth is their own to decide. The Institute
of Unlearning merely seeks to add more choices to your intellectual
menu.
It is also the goal of this site to link visitors to those sites which
the Institute believes are worth your consideration. By linking them
with this site, the Institute of Unlearning is not necessarily endorsing
the content of those sites, but is attesting to the power of their
information. The Institute will never claim that it is the sole guardian
or possessor of "the truth".
Another aim of the Institute of Unlearning is to produce books, videos
and webcasts that showcase alternative points of view that do not
make it into the corporately-controlled mainstream media. As this
site expands from its initial stages, it will provide the "unlearner"
with a library of media resources to support his/her newly emerging
worldview.
Finally, it is the long-range goal of the Institute of Unlearning
to manifest it's classrooms from cyberspace to physical space. The
Institute believes that opening this website is a valuable service
to humans everywhere. When recognized as this, the Institute will
gather with those of like vision to create centers that will aid humanity
in its ever increasing rate of evolution. Until that time, Patrick
Mooney will travel, write and produce videos to provoke thought and
promote his vision of what an "unlearned" world looks like.
