Many people, including this author, have had their lives changed radically since the events of September 11, 2001. The change for untold millions has been the conditioned acceptance of perpetual global wars, the reduction of civil liberties, loss of economic standing and worker benefits, and an increasing paranoia surrounding health epidemics and environmental shifts. For the few that have awakened to the millennia-old scam that is life on earth, it might even seem like things are coming to a head. If that is the case for you, then you still have a little more waking up to do.

The mindset that the world is "getting worse" is an easy trap to fall into. We have at our fingertips today various technologies that can deliver information instantaneously to our awareness. Governments and corporations no longer have the capabilities to effectively filter all the truth that has always been out there, waiting to be known. Our minds, having more puzzle pieces to place together than ever before, are finally grasping the "big picture". The fear of our own death projects the sentiment that we may be discovering the truth a bit too late to do anything about it.

If you are at this place in your unlearning journey, you may have noticed yourself trudging through it for some time. Each unlearner will navigate the challenges of becoming aware at their own pace, but even still, some challenges loom larger than others. The talented and wise author, Tom Robbins, helped me to see my way through the above-described morass with one simple, yet often repeated sentence from one of his earliest works, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues.

"The television was busy describing the international situation, which was desperate, as usual."

Mr. Robbins wrote that book over three decades ago, when I was just learning to get accustomed to my human body and was being bombarded with all sorts of idiotic thought forms through my then-defenseless subconscious. I note the timing of his book because if you were to take a sampling of some of the idiotic writing being posted on the "alternative news" and conspiracy websites these days, you might come to the conclusion that Earth life became doomed once George Bush took office. Some writers continue to think a democracy existed in the United States before the year 2000.

The fact of the matter is; earth life has existed with an oppressive power structure for its entire post-deluvian history. Things aren't getting worse as much as they are just staying the same. The current appearance of an "acceleration in time" is more than likely the background "nuance" of this particular time period for incarnational experiences. Like all other time periods before it, the challenges and opportunities for a human life remain the same, in spiritual terms.

And that challenge is to empower the human awareness so that it may create and live under its own terms instead of the will forced upon it by others. In every lifetime, we have the power to decide what those terms will be. The speed at which we bring experiences to ourselves, individually or collectively, in no way alters the basic quest to grow and create, to experience and to learn (or unlearn).

Fear today is as powerful as fear in other time frames. The paranoia over the emerging World Police State is the same as those who feared the presence of invading Nazis, French Revolutionaries, American Settlers, Sea-faring Spaniards and Vikings, Mongols, Romans, Greeks, and whatever other Barbarian hordes we humans have chosen to express in past incarnations. Given our proclivity for such cultural violence, it would be no surprise to this unlearner to find Earth in this "Klingon-like" behavior well into the future (post-nuclear or not).

Some might find this knowledge to be depressing, but that is only because their focus has been on the backdrop to the plot and not the main story, which is your life!

If you choose to focus in a bit further, you will see that a great many humans have managed to create lives of complete happiness in even the darkest of historical times. While it may seem true that world events are somehow guided by a darker mind, the evidence is overwhelming that many lives, not just the awakened, are guided by a principle that very simply seems to be love and fortune.

Look at your own life and see how many times "fortuitous" events and friendly people have guided it. I'm sure that there are plenty of others who could share a similar tale, even if the explanations for such strokes of luck are beyond their graspings.

The universe, apparently, wants humanity to succeed.

The crux of the matter, seen from this perspective, is whether the forces of "good", which affect our own personal universes can be enlarged so as to unseat the forces of "evil", which appear to hold sway over financial systems, political systems and world events. The tactic that will most successfully accomplish this task is the enlargement of your own personal sphere of influence. You must become empowered.

This is no small task as the popular remote viewer and artist, Ingo Swann, noted in his two volume series on power. Despite what our educational systems claim, humanity has no acknowledged schools of power. If we did, we would understand the game that is being played and be able to stop it, or at least play it to our advantage. The cult secret society schools are versed in "the rules" at their elite levels, but those bastards, by their actions, have given themselves over to non-human forces and can not be expected to yield to reason when pressed to deliver positive solutions for the humanity they claim to represent.

The challenge for humanity is to share the information on power that we have gained on our own, in spite of a society that is determined to vacuum it from our possession. Life by unlearned life, the pyramid builders will lose the slaves they have relied upon for so many millennia.

So do not bemoan whatever trials or tribulations you must face in your own pursuit of happiness. Any romantic delusions you harbor that the past was somehow easier or better must be jettisoned if you are to create a truly new and empowered future. Otherwise, you will find yourself mistakenly turning to the past for the solutions that will free you, when it is the past that forged the chains of your current struggle.

Try to remember these points when the next "big thing" happens in the world. There is hardly anything new "under the sun" that humanity hasn't seen before, which is a comforting thought for me, as it must be love that has brought us to this very day. It is an unreasonable love, waiting for its champions to emerge from our collective history of pain, spilled blood, and suffering in each and every era when a human heeds the call to unlearn.
