THE YEAR OF LIVING LAUGHINGLY
Humor Is The True Weapon of Mass Destruction

Increasingly, we are told that this year's election for president of the United States may be the most pivotal election of our times. On the one side is the incumbent, polarizing president who demands your allegiance and/or subservience in his holy war against terror. On the other side is a mostly confused, cackling gaggle of career crowd pleasers, who offer insincere, market-tested platitudes so surprisingly bland for a nation that boasts such rich diversity among its citizenry. America, it seems, is indeed a melting pot. Unfortunately, our minds appear to be the cooked ingredient.

Make no mistake about this years' election. It is as unimportant as any election that ever preceded it and any election that will or may follow it. It has been well documented that real political power lies hidden behind the faces we see on our televisions and read about in our mass media. Little can be done now for those still caught in the throes of our illusory democracy. Let them screech and holler to their hearts content. It is simply best to just let them be.

The course of this planet's destiny may yet be steered by the power of choice, just not the choices our cultured minds fixate towards. If chance, circumstance, or Higher Self intervention should awaken you, then the true choices will become clear this year and every year for the rest of your earthly life. The choice is deciding to claim your power or not; to live your life under your terms or not; the decision to laugh or not.

It is this latter aspect that deserves a sincere scrutiny. In the stages of my own unlearning, no discovery has been more freeing than the power of laughter. Unlearning, in its initial stages is a frightening thing. You are confronted starkly with your own sense of powerlessness in a world that no longer makes any sense. Enemies of all kinds abound, some of them are your now former friends, some of them are still waiting for you to discover them amongst your loved ones, many of them are in your mind and the most suppressed parts of your soul. Thrown so suddenly from your illusory matrix, it is easy to choose fear and shell yourself up in an even more confining thought prison. If this has been your fate thus far, know that the powers that be are happy to learn of your paranoia. Knowing the truth is futile if you don't have the will to use it.

If you can nurse yourself through this stage, you will slowly begin to regain your sense of self. In time, you may even gain your sense of SELF. Anger and courage will be traded in for a laughter that lightens the heart unreasonably amidst so much suffering. In such a state, bravery is no longer necessary, for there is indeed nothing to fear. Do not mistake this feeling for the haughty laughter that masks rage and condescending. They are fleeting and poor foundations on which to build one's new world. The power of the laughter I am describing is immense. It is a weapon of mass destruction.

Unlearners everywhere are encouraged to stockpile and develop this WMD whenever and wherever possible. Do not hide them from the ever probing “inspectors” who will seek to dismantle your WMD program with scare tactics like taxes, terrorism, cyber and organic viruses, and a whole host of phantom dangers you need to be protected from.

Furthermore, you should announce your intention to proliferate your WMDs to the lowest, not highest bidder. You must advocate the policy of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) and strategically plan to survive the chaos your WMDs will create. As the world “cracks up” (pun intended) under the strain of hearts joyously bursting everywhere, humans will see, for the first time in a long time, that we are a species meant for more than mere survival on this planet. We are entertainers and creators.

What we've created so far mimics the dull and empty strip-mall experience that is Las Vegas. Surrounded by a post-nuclear desert and deprived of its King, the city survives by leeching the desperate dreams of souls who equate power with money. In the fast approaching new world, money and many of the concepts that we so sacredly cherish now will be the butt of one joke after another. “Can you believe we used to think that way?” we'll laughingly recall amongst one another.

That time is not yet here, fellow unlearners. Do not forsake your duty to humanity. Heal your funny bone, loosen up your tickling fingers, and practice some full and deep belly laughing. If you can't find anything funny to laugh about, just tune into the stories of our imperial democracy that grace the news everyday. The American sense of self-importance is truly funny!

WHOSE LIFE ARE YOU LIVING?
